Illinois Notary Supplies

Illinois Notary Publics has a term of 4 years and can purchase notary supplies within that term. In the state of Illinois, it is mandatory for notaries to purchase a surety bond to protect the notary public from financial losses resulting in unsuitable notary conduct. The state of Illinois also requires a notary public to use a Pre-Inked or Self-Inking notary seal stamp when notarizing official acts. If you notarize in Cook County, you will be required to use a Fingerprint Pad. The state of Illinois does not require having a notary journal but it is highly recommended as a form of proof that you performed the notarization correctly. Illinois Notary Stamps and Seals must have a serrated or milled edge border with a maximum size of 1’ x 2 ½” and include the following text: Official Seal, Name, Notary Public, State of Illinois, and Commission Expiration Date.
