Notary Public commissions are valid for a 4 year term in the state of Alabama. As a new or renewed Alabama Notary Public, certified by the Department of State, you will be required to notarize all documents with an official Notary Seal in the form of an Embosser, Pre-Inked or Self-Inking Stamp. Although not required as of January 1, 2012, a Records Journal is considered best practice for secure and organized notarial acts. In addition, state officials highly recommend using a Records Journal which can be helpful if you are named in a lawsuit. All notary supplies and packages ship within 2-3 business days!
